My name is Mashu. I am a traditional Gaduwa Tsalagi (Eastern Band Cherokee) and Osahi (Osage), enrolled in the Cherokees of Alabama Tribe, living in the foothills of the Mountains of the Blue Smoke (Smokey Mountains, in the state of Alabama. I am a healthcare professional, and when not on duty, I lecture, internationally, on our people and culture. I am also a traditional dancer and our family heads the Cherokee Road singers Drum at many local Pow-wows.
